Dr Walid El Khoury

The Principal, Dr Walid El Khoury, received his B.S. in Physics and a Teaching Diploma from AUB and then went to the U.S.A. for his graduate studies. He resided in the U.S.A. from 1974 to 1998, where he assumed several academic and administrative positions. In 1998, he returned to Lebanon and joined International College as Senior Vice President and Deputy Head. He was later appointed by AUB as the first Headmaster of Kingdom Schools, Riyadh. Dr El Khoury took up the post of BHS Principal in 2001. He lives with his family at BHS. All three of his children graduated from BHS. 

Since Dr El Khoury's appointment, BHS has received accreditation from the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate as a centre offering IGCSE and GCE AS and A levels. In 2013 the School met the high accreditation standards of AdvancED. In 2016 it met the requirements for Accreditation with Education Development Trust and was awarded the The International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM) at Silver Level and later the same year obtained the licence to teach the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Under Dr Khoury's leadership the school has made progress in raising academic standards, introducing new teaching methodologies, creating opportunities for students to practice leadership, and promoting community service.
