English Class

On the morning of 9 November, the Principal gave the first formal lesson looking at the novel 1984 which was prefaced by an introduction he gave the students on the life of George Orwell following an enlightening introduction to Dystopias by the Head of Department, Lisette El Hage. He also talked about the context in which George Orwell was writing, in a century dominated by 2 World Wars and the rise of totalitarian regimes. We wish all our English studies reading and studying 1984 a successful and enjoyable time. Looking forward to hearing about all the thoughts and discussions the book provokes.
