Rugby Tournament

I was able on Saturday morning to attend the splendid rugby tournament, in which Brummana High School, Jamhour and the Beirut Rugby Academy were involved. In addition to a series of matches, there was some worthwhile practice as well and at the end parents gathered at the Amphitheatre to provide food for the participants. It was a very nice social as well as sporting occasion and I had the opportunity to chat to quite a number of parents at the event who were delighted to watch their children participate.  I am very grateful to Richard Bampfylde, our resident Rugby Coach, and to a number of parents who helped, for organising what was a very successful morning’s play. The rugby was played, unusually for Lebanon, in wet conditions, much more familiar to rugby players in the UK.
