During break time on Friday 6th November, children in the infant section were taken for a walk around the school to benefit from the first sunny day after a week of heavy rain.

Taking children on a walk is such an easy activity, especially when the weather is warm. We all need exposure to vitamin D, and if you stop and think about it, a lot of great learning can take place on a simple walk. Being outside in nature is one of the most calming, nurturing, and healthy things you can do for yourself.

No matter what the weather is like, you’ll feel so much better after just walking outside for a bit each day.

A walk outside is a welcomed break for the children who are required to wear a mask at all times indoors. Maintaining social distancing whilst taking a walk outside offers a moment of relief from the difficulties of wearing a mask all day.
