It was great to continue the tradition started last year for a ‘Seniors tree’ to be planted as part of their legacy to the school. Kelly K., Head Prefect, Natalie A., Secretary General BHSMUN and Franchesco Jarjoura, Student Body President, dug a hole and planted the tree on campus, with Principal David Gray and a few other senior leaders present also. This year the tree chosen – planted in front of the lovely green foliage hanging down the MTB walkway wall – was a strawberry tree. Thank you to Old Scholar Houssam Shaiban, responsible for the school’s burgeoning botanical garden project, for sourcing such a lovely tree. A plaque is being prepared and will be installed just in front of the strawberry tree with a quote from our Seniors this year, “How lucky are we to have something that makes saying goodbye this hard.”
