The school is very pleased to join the Botanic Gardens Conservation International to support the development of our ancillary botanical garden on campus. Our membership connects us with hundreds of botanical gardens worldwide, as well as the main botanical garden at BGCI headquarters, which is of course the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, London. For those of you lucky enough to have visited Kew, you’ll know very well how special those royal gardens are! The BHS project is to continue building up endemic species on our 16-acre campus and at the same time remove invasive species. The whole project is a curriculum planner and teacher’s dream with students young and old able to benefit from the garden integrated into the curriculum. This is not forgetting the wider community and it is hoped we will be able to regularly invite community members to explore the botanical garden and species on open days in future. Look out for updates on botanical garden progress and activities throughout the year.
