A letter from the Head of Careers, Mr Fareed Halabi, to students applying for a scholarship nomination at the University of Toronto:
Dear Students, Parents, and Colleagues,
I wish to congratulate you all on having participated in and completed the interview stage for the Lester B. Pearson scholarship nomination for the University of Toronto. All of you have exceptional qualities that represent the best aspects of Brummana High School and you are each worthy of this nomination. Mr. Hani Khalife and I both commented on the wish that we had the ability to nominate more than one student for this opportunity. Mr. Hani Khalife and I committed great efforts and went to such lengths as to make sure we were as objective as possible, taking into consideration a number of factors which included such things like academics, extracurricular activity, future career plans, financial need, as well as a number of other factors that helped us to determine the worthiest candidate for nomination.
This year’s nomination for the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship goes to Anthony M. who hopes to pursue a degree in industrial engineering at the University of Toronto. Please join me in congratulating this exceptional young man and indeed all the candidates for their commitment to excellence in their academic careers.
I wish you all good health and success in these difficult times and stand ready to provide answers to any questions you may have.
Best Regards,
Fareed N. Halabi
