On Thursday evening QuIET Trustee Tony Manasseh, Principal David Gray and Marketing Manager Richard Bampfylde welcomed Georgette Hamaty online to discuss fundraising in the US / North America. Mrs Hamaty has a wealth of experience and expertise in this area, particularly in Quaker circles, and especially in the fields of arts and culture as well as education. All three from BHS thanked Georgette for offering her time and invaluable insights into opportunities for gaining support in the US in particular for BHS. Georgette said that in the US individuals make up the largest proportion for fundraising / donated amounts. Georgette was told about BHS history and how it has been a beacon of light and hope in Lebanon/ME education for nearly 150 years, with the school providing generations with a first-class education. Current students shall be very much expected to now lead the country to a brighter future. Georgette was able to provide various ideas for fundraising, different Quaker groups in the US that can support and opportunities for promotional activities which were all well-received. Lastly, it was possible to understand more about Mrs Hamaty’s current work which is with the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia which has one of the most remarkable, unique collections of art in the US and around the world.
