Saffron Walden Quaker Meeting

The school would like to say a special thank you to our many Friends at Saffron Walden Quaker Meeting in Essex, UK. Thanks to them and their fundraising efforts, a very major gift was received during the BHS Gives 2021 Appeal to support bursaries at Brummana High School. Due to the extremely challenging devaluation of the local Lebanese Lira currency against the US dollar, donations received in foreign exchange, such as the £7000 from Saffron Walden can have an exponential impact on the lives of our students, their parents and families. We are indebted to Ted Jackson, a former staff member in Brummana, and now current member of the Friends of BHS UK & Ireland group, for all his support and efforts. A thank you card and first day BHS stamp cover has been mailed to the Meeting’s Treasurer, John Capper, as a small token of the school’s great appreciation during these desperate times in Lebanon.
