Upper School - Pastoral

It is my privilege to serve as the Head of Upper School Pastoral at Brummana High School, supporting students from Grades 7 to 12. In line with our school’s guiding motto, “I Serve,” my role is rooted in a commitment to create a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members of our upper school community.

A key part of my responsibility is to oversee and encourage student leadership through programs such as advisory, the prefect system, class representatives, and student council elections. I believe strongly in giving our students meaningful opportunities to develop their voices, take initiative, and grow as responsible and active members of society.

Equally important is ensuring that every student, teacher, and staff member is treated with fairness and respect. I am dedicated to upholding a culture where no favoritism exists and where each individual feels valued and heard.

In addition, I am actively involved in organizing a variety of school trips, whether day outings, overnight experiences, or international opportunities, which help enrich our students’ learning, build teamwork, and foster real-world understanding.

Pastoral care also means ensuring the emotional and social well-being of our students. I work closely with staff and students to prevent and address bullying, and to maintain a culture of kindness, respect, and mutual support. Every student, teacher, and staff member deserve to be treated with fairness and equality with no space for favoritism.

I ensure that the Pastoral Student Handbook is reviewed and updated annually. Additionally, I make it a priority to conduct one fire drill and one earthquake drill at the school each year to maintain safety preparedness.

Finally, as Head of Upper School Pastoral, my greatest hope is that every student leaves our school not just with knowledge, but with love for their time here, for the community they’ve been part of, and for the person they’ve become along the way. I want each of them to carry a deep sense of belonging, to know they are always connected to this place. And one day, I hope they’ll return; not just to visit, but because this school has become part of who they are. They will always be a part of us, just as we will always hold a place for them.” Together, we continue to build a school community where service, leadership, and equality are not just ideals, but lived values every day.
