World Ocean Day

For World Ocean Day, 8 June, Old Scholar Natalie Ashkar planned a pretty packed day at her University UCLA! She organized a beach cleanup with the ORCA club (Ocean Resources for Conservation and Advocacy), and hosted and participated in a large event with the Renewable Energy Association where people showcased ideas and inventions that can be implemented on campus (kind of like a renewable energy talent show, of sorts). It was wonderful to see what people came up with, and hopefully their organization can make UCLA even more sustainable. Finally, she attended much of the World Ocean Day Youth-a-Thon, just like the previous year. WOD is her favorite day of the year!
