The English as a Foreign Language Department’s students have been busy! Integrating healthy fruits and vegetables into their learning, the students undertook a two week ‘rainbow’ challenge. They had to eat at least five fruits or vegetables each day and keep a diary of all the items they consumed during the week. The activity was a great success in not only allowing students the opportunity to further develop their English language skills, from writing to presenting and everything in between, but also of course to discover and enjoy more fruits and vegetables that are available. Students were also treated to a fun game of teacher-made snakes and ladders at the end of the project! Bravo to all our EFL students.
The EFL Department at Brummana High School is a well-renowned department in the country, offering classes to students who may be new to the English language or who need the support to allow them to achieve at school. Classes are typically very small in terms of number of students, allowing for each student to receive very personalised teaching and individual support. The Head of the Department is a British national and is supported by a team of native English speakers. Students can be Lebanese nationals but more often students arriving from other countries into Lebanon are those that register on the specialised programme.
