Vision
Brummana High School is an internationally recognized Quaker educational institution that embodies excellence in education and service, attracting students from diverse backgrounds and regions in their quest for knowledge and academic growth.
The vision of the Department of Science is to ensure that students are engaged in their learning process and that their scientific curiosity is nurtured through critical thinking problems.
Mission
Brummana High School is a Quaker coeducational school that seeks excellence in academics, the arts and sports and aims to promote integrity in its students. Each school community member ensures that students from diverse backgrounds are prepared to be responsible citizens and life-long learners, respecting each other and helping the community.
The Department of Science consistently seeks to represent science through systematic observation, description, engagement, exploration, elaboration, theoretical explanation and experimental investigation. The department stresses the importance of critical thinking and logical reasoning using various methods of inquiry.
Our mission is to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for discovery in every student through hands-on experiments, interactive learning, and collaborative research. We aim to equip students with knowledge and skills to understand and address the world’s scientific challenges. We are also dedicated to fostering a supportive environment through our high-tech equipped laboratories and our botanical garden where students can explore the wonders of chemistry, physics, biology and technology, thus preparing them to become innovators and problem solvers in a rapidly evolving world. Our goal is to cultivate a life-long passion for science that extends beyond the classroom. Such principles are implemented in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in all programmes (LP, IB, IGCSE, AS/A levels).
