The Boarding Community has been enjoying their evenings altogether, dining and relaxing in the lounge area, where Mr Rabih Aouad, Head of Boarding, hosted a kick-off meeting on Tuesday evening. Our five current boarders are really multinational and a wonderful group they are too. Lebanon, Mexico, US, Costa Rica, Holland, Italy and Morocco are all countries represented. For those of our sharp-eyed website article readers, you will notice that of course the number of countries represented are actually more than the number of students! This is the case as some of our boarders come from mixed families, with parents of differing nationalities. The atmosphere is one of comfort and happiness, in a secure and Covid-safe zone. Boarders have also started to benefit from the use of facilities on campus, including the state-of-the-art gymnasium launched last year. Another benefit for boarders is that they have also started to have face-to-face meetings with teachers/tutors who are able to visit campus yet these are always held at a safe social distance. This is a regular benefit for boarding schools right around the world, and particularly advantageous right now as the school continues to operate online due to lockdown restrictions. The community looks forward to welcoming more boarders soon too, with several prospective boarders currently applying and taking placement tests. Here’s to another great year for the BHS boarding community and thank you to House Parents Rabih and Lamiss as well as our very supportive Boarding Monitors.
