We received this message from GFS Tokyo, Japan on Friday, 11 February, sparking a growing relationship between the two schools…

Dear Brummana High School

Hello. My name is Monami Tochiori, a president of student council at Friends Girls School in Japan (https://www.friends.ac.jp ).

I am contacting you because I would like to hear your opinion on whether you can participate our project that exchange videos with friends schools in the world.

In COVID-19 pandemic, many students are losing the opportunity to study abroad, and to connect with people who live abroad.
Therefore, we really hope that we will have the time to know the usual life of your students among many countries, so I launch the project.

We would like to know how you continue to learn in very difficult situations.

If you don’t feel burdened with it, could I send you a video introducing our school?

And If possible, would you please email me a video introducing your school?

The video is supposed to look like this:

Substance: introduce my school

Length of video : 10 min

By the time : May 31st

Would any of your students be willing or excited to join us in this video exchange project?

If you would like to participate, please contact us. Also, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely yours,
Monami Tochiori

Dear Miss Tochiori,

Thank you once again for connecting with us here in Brummana, Lebanon. It was such a pleasure to receive your communication and our student council have been busy (and happy) preparing an introductory video for you at Friends Girls School, Japan.

Copied in on this message are Mr Hani Khalife, Head of Secondary, Ms Aline Alam, Head of Mathematics, who even visited Japan for a peace education conference, Stephanie, Student Council President, and Kiyan, SC Vice-President. All played a major role in the production of this video, especially Stephanie, Kiyan and the rest of our excellent SC team.

Please find here the video link: https://vimeo.com/691907062

We are looking forward to hearing back from you and to more and more communication between our two schools in the coming months and years.

In peace and friendship,
Richard
