Congratulations to Jad in grade 6, Nelly in grade 7, Paulo in grade 4 and parent Dana Daoud for their St Barbara’s Day Stories.

We were delighted to have a number of thoughtful and original entries for the St Barbara’s Day story competition.

This beloved festival is for many, a unique highlight of childhood in Lebanon, and for some, St Barbara’s Day triggers the start of the festive season looking forward to Christmas. Paulo describes this custom beautifully in his original and delightful story. Other stories such as Jad’s sought to research and detail some of the many variations of St Barbara’s Story.

Congratulations to all the winning authors and illustrators – the winning stories are available to download and watch by scanning the QR code below. All of these stories will be added to BHS Schools Libraries to be enjoyed again in future years!
