We are seeking to appoint a full-time Head of Support for Learning for the 2023/24 academic year.
The post of Head of Support for Learning caters for specific learning needs (dyslexia-related, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia et al) of students at both the Lower School and Upper School.
The successful candidate will also oversee the school’s Writing Centre and the EFL Department and work closely with the Head of EFL and the Vice-Principal Academic to whom he will be accountable. In addition, the candidate will teach within the Support for Learning Department as required and receives a time allowance of double. He/she will be required to teach one on one sessions in English/ Arabic/Math or Science in Upper School (Gr.7-12).
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate suitably qualified and experienced in working with young people with mild learning difficulties in this field with strong strategic and organisational skills.
The ideal candidate should have a Masters’ degree in Special Education, Education or Psychology, a teaching diploma, experience of inclusive school teaching, a commitment to a child-centred education, a willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular programme, good computer skills and excellent English language skills.
