Extra-Curricular Arts Activities

Alongside our after-school sports programs, BHS offers a wide variety of Art, Music, Crafts, and Drama activities. These opportunities allow students to explore their interests, express their creativity, and discover new passions beyond the classroom.

By taking part in different activities, students can find the ones that best suit their talents and personalities, while also learning from the challenges and rewards of trying something new. These experiences help them develop individual skills, confidence, and a strong sense of teamwork.

BHS is also proud to welcome international artists and performers to our campus, including the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra and the United Strings of Europe. Who knows, perhaps one day our own school choir, made up of students, teachers, parents, and Old Scholars, will share the stage with these remarkable musicians!

Having an activity period every Monday is an amazing experience to relieve stress and express ourselves freely. What makes my activity period even more fruitful is the Arts Club I joined this year. In this club I become a creative and a happy student. This is because I use my drawing to express an idea for a certain event. For example, when decorating for Christmas, I drew meaningful pictures that symbolise the meaning of Christmas and the acts of kindness people do in this holy season. Also, I used an attractive colour coordination pattern while colouring my drawings to reflect a great work of art.

I am glad to see that drama is strengthening again… In ‘our’ day (1960s) the students loved performing Bernard Shaw’s plays. I should have photos somewhere of Louis Abu Habib (Ex mayor of Roumieh) and Na’amat Little (Baz) performing in ‘Arms and the man’. (Referring to 1960s, written June 2020)
