I have been meaning to text you for a few days. I am at AUB now and I am taking a sociology/anthropology course. I like the course, but I just keep wishing that you were our teacher. Honestly, no one is passionate about sociology as you are and everything you’ve taught us is still fresh in my head. Just wanted to thank you for everything and to tell you I miss you so much…

Miss Jina doesn’t only teach rigorous curriculum, she provokes everyone’s competitive side making class discussion challenging, interesting and constructive.  This special spirit developed my learning curiosity and eagerness to understand the world around me.

IB economics class does not solely teach economic theories. It does not only teach how to answer economic questions. This class teaches you about the REAL WORLD, something few classes do. In Miss Jina’s class, we apply what we learn to what is happening around us. We discuss real economic crises.

AS Economics was of such high level at BHS. In a senior level economics course at university I am learning, from scratch, content we already covered in 12th grade. It was not included in any book, but Miss Jina guided us through research to get our numbers and reach conclusions, and because of that I feel so much advantaged compared to my university peers. Also, she inspired me to major in Economics.

Miss Jina is not only a teacher, she is a genuine person who helps you learn about the workings of economics without even feeling it. She engraves the building blocks of the subject for future use, and enhances ones learning for the better. She uses positive energy, to water us and makes us grow into better learners.

Miss Jina Abou Merhi’s economics class instilled in me and insatiable curiosity about Economics. So much so that i ended up pursuing developmental economics as my Major course of study at UCLA.

Psychology isn’t like any other subject, it changes one’s perspective on life. Even by learning the general theories and ideas behind it, my view on how humans interact and behave has changed. By taking this class I learnt how to balance and control many aspects in my life. It is a subject that should be complemented with every major at university.

Psychology has opened our minds to a whole new perspective of the world. Topics that made no sense to us, like why people do certain things, have become much clearer and eye opening. Psychology has opened doors of points of views in dozens of situations that have helped us understand more clearly how and why people act the way they do. Not only has this class helped us understand the world, it’s helped us have a greater grasp of understanding of ourselves. It has helped us to also develop critical thinking skills and helped us become better communicators. Psychology is a course that is both intriguing and fascinating.
